When someone said "Hong Kong is my home."? If you read the attached article from a columnist Chan Wan, you would realize that very few of us (even among those who actually live in Hong Kong!) can rightfully claim Hong Kong as our home, and that's because many of us view Hong Kong as a "stepping stone" and often fail to recognize what it means to be a citizen. I am definitely guilty on that account...
In the first ever popular vote held in hong kong, 780,000 citizens casted their votes on the issue of universal suffrage for 2017. That’s not a bad turnout considering the fact that this is not sanctioned by the government n it has been maligned by the prochina camp ever since its conception. Truth be told, this is really only a symbolic vote. It carries no mandate except that it might reflect what some hong kong citizens feel about universal suffrage.
