Stella: WOW!
The most honest three and a half minutes of television, EVER... sadly true

Pedro: Mr.
Bob Choi has taught me that everything in this world is cyclical.
This applies to humans, products, countries. They are born, they
rise, they climb, they achieve, they peak, they dominate, they decline and they
become over-taken by somebody else and they will fade into oblivion.
My reckoning is that the US as a super-power peaked during
the Cold War ear and has been on a slow and steady decline since. Why did it peak
in the Cold War era? The threat of the Soviet
Union eclipsing them in world domination. See how having an
enemy spurs you onto better and greater things, and not so good things like the
arms race on nuclear weaponry.
Since the demise of the Soviet Union, the US thought they had
achieved world domination and let its guard down, little does it realise China
has walked into the void.
This might just be the wake-up call the US needs to pick itself up again,
as it now has another ‘enemy’ to contend with.
.
Bob: It's
well-scripted and well-rehearsed and maybe even honest, but I am not so sure
about it being accurate though.
Alright, the US
is not the greatest country. There's no arguments
there. But it will be more accurate to say that THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS THE
GREATEST COUNTRY! anywhere! For most people, "My
Country" is always the greatest. It's an emotive expression akin to saying
"My dad/mum/dog is the greatest." One should not be asked to prove
such held opinion. The objective truth (if there's such a thing) is that every
country has its strengths and weaknesses. Japan is best in X, the US in Y and... China in Z, etc. I have yet to know one country (any country)
that is the best in every measure. So what does it mean when someone says (my
country) is the greatest in the world? ABSOLUTELY
MEANINGLESS, to be accurate.
That said, I'd like to say that Marilyn Monroe was the greatest
actress ever lived... and please do not ask me to prove it.
Stella: 正所謂長江後浪推前浪,
this is true with who gets to be in dominance.
